Properties of additions:-
The numbers which are added is called Addends
Result of addition is called SUM
I.e. 20+30 =50
Here, 20+30 are called addends
And result 50 is called SUM

Properties of Multiplication
4 x 5=20
Here 4 is called Multiplicand (Number to be Multiplied)
Here 5 is called Multiplier (Number by which we Multiply)
Here 20 is called Product (Result of the Multiplication)

Notes:-

1. When a number multiplied by 10 the product will be number with a Zero to the right of the number.

2. Multiplication a number by 20,30,40 ........... 90 is equal to the number multiplied by 2,3,4 ... 9 respectively, followed by a zero to the right of  the number.

3. When a number multiplied by 100, 2 zeros are put to the right of the number.

4.  Multiplication a number by the sum of a number is the same as multiplying each number in the sum by that number and adding the product.

5. Multiplication is a repeated addition.
